Heavy AmericA is Flyah ''Hardcore''

Heavy AmericA is an all original alternative hard rock band based in Boston, Massachusetts and comprised of three members:
Mike Seguin- Guitars, Lead Vocals, Keys
Dan Fried- Drums, Percussion, Vocals
Budd Lapham- Bass, Vocals
Formed in 2013, Mike, Dan and Budd brought together their years of experience and influences to create a truly unique band with a sound all its own. Fed up with the infinite repeat of bubble gum and corporate rock music that plagues the airways, they decided to be a band to bring forth the change so desperately needed in rock music today.
Their "keep it simple" formula has resulted music that is full of energy and raw emotion. A rollercoaster ride with plateaus of happiness and cliffs of terror. So open your ears and your mind to the new sound you've been searching for....Heavy AmericA!

Heavy AmericA - Their Debut Record  Independent Spotlight,  June 18, 2015               In this evening’s edition of the Independent Spotlight, we’re going to be taking a look at a band that describes themselves as a ‘rollercoaster ride with plateaus of happiness and cliffs of terror.’ That’s quite a bio line. In any case, the band is Heavy AmericA and their new self-titled debut dropped in April. It’s a hell of a ride, clocking in with six raging rock tracks. Is it a ride worth the price of admission?                                                      I have to be honest, with a band name like ‘Heavy AmericA,’ I was prepared for a Lynyrd Skynyrd-esque group that dons incredible cheesy American flag paraphernalia and energizes drunken southern audiences. To my joy, Heavy AmericA isn’t like that at all. Their blend of hard rock is reminiscent of British Invasion jams mixed with some of the better elements of American hard rock.                                                               ‘Daddy’ is noteworthy. I really dig this jam. It’s got some fantastic electric riffing that builds a retro landscape of epic proportions. Heavy AmericA’s sound is very garagey. However, I could care less about that for this type of act. I’d actually argue that the rough nature of the recordings is alluring in this genre. It feels gritty and real, avoiding any ‘polished’ or ‘commercial’ faux pas.                                                ‘Under Glass’ takes the cake of the first half of the record. This song is beautifully composed, accentuating the band with moody reverberated synths. Quickly, the song evolves into a screeching rocker. After a few moments, it slips back down into soft recess. ‘Motor Honey’ is far more original. I like how short and punchy the track is. It takes all of the proper elements of good hard rock and slaps you in the face with them. That’s good; I can get behind that.                                                                                   © 2015 — Brett Stewart / Rivers Rubin / Independent Spotlight / The Jukebox

Heavy AmericA's debut album "Heavy AmericA                                                                                                       Indiemunity-   June 18, 2015                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       With a name like Heavy AmericA, I must admit, I went into my first listen expecting something quite different. I wasn’t disappointed, quite the contrary; Heavy AmericA’s debut album, Heavy americA, was a really enjoyable listen. The alternative hard rock group doesn’t lay it out quite as hard and heavy as the name might lead one to believe; rather, their six track debut album has a bit of a dark mellow flow to it. Though, they do turn up the tempo and know how to increase the energy in a song. Each song has its own sound, lyrical theme, and they all come together to create an enjoyable album.                                                                                                                                          The trio doesn’t overdo any of their tracks. Musically, they don’t go in for intense energy and excitement, but rather keep things simple and consistent. The simplicity of their songs really felt reminiscent of older music, as new stuff today often tends to go overboard and try to do everything. There were times when I wondered if I was truly listening to a group that only got together in 2013 or if they had been jamming since the 1990s and early 2000s, at times I even wondered whether their vocalist was in a band from the 1980s. Despite having only been together for two years, the group has a really mature sound. I might compare them to more recent bands like Queens of the Stone Age or The Strokes, but there were times when I felt like they had a lot of classic rock inspiration as well.      Despite being a short album, each of the six songs brought enough variation of emotion and sound that it makes the short length really enjoyable. While many groups go in for ten to twenty track albums these days, I lament the idea of creating quantity over quality. I think that more than overloading an album with tracks, taking the time to filter the crap out is vital – even more so with a debut album. I think that Heavy AmericA put a lot of effort and energy into their debut and it has paid off for them. They clearly chose to make a short, but loaded album rather than going for quantity and I am glad that they did. Check out their self-titled debut album and see what you think! Matt Kaiser – indiemunity.

King George with the smash hit 904

With a sound based on emotive melodies and powerful rhythms, Australian artist King George has been described as having a unique mix of light and dark. (Buzz Magazine, MARCH 2009). The man behind the madness George Zois says "It's taken a while to find the right direction with my sound I always wanted to be able to bring a deep, emotional content to my music, but not lose the rawness."

From his early days as toddler he has been infatuated by music but although he grew up with music being played around the house he comes from an un-musical family and attended a religious high school that at the time had no interest giving its students a musical output. So what happens when playing music is part of who you are and you're in an environment that isn't? George says "I guess you have to break down some walls and make people understand who you are and what makes you happy. Since my early teens I have been writing and playing music and to put it bluntly I fucking love it. For me its very simple, what do we have to leave behind in life? some people have their photo albums, homes, cars, videos etc , all I can leave behind is the songs I have written that capture who I am and what I'm feeling at the time no matter how good or bad the song, it's there, locked away and captured in time and available for those who are interested."

The debut album 'Prisoners Of The Pluto Junction' was released in February 2010 that took King George from Melbourne to New York City in 2011. George adds, "The album is definitely the direction I wanted to take musically. It is a fair departure from anything I had done before. The themes are provocative, sleazy, immature, serious, heartbreaking and dark. The Pluto Junction for me is like a place of mourning and recovery, a place where I go mentally to pick up the pieces and put myself together again, some people can't get out of that junction and become their own prisoner. It sounds a bit weird but to be honest its hard to explain and the longer I try to explain the meaning of songs the more I waffle and become boring and like many songwriters and musos we are pretty boring people...we are not here to talk about self indulgent bullshit we are here to rock, and music should be there to be interpreted by the masses or very few in my case!"

With major influences including U2, Bjork, Faith No More, The Killers and even Dusty Springfield there is diversity from where King George draws from. "My favourite albums are U2s Achtung Baby, FNMs The Real Thing, the Killer's Sams Town, PJ Harvey's Stories from the City and Depeche Mode's Songs of Faith and Devotion."

With the album came a debut film clip for the single Nothing Left and a very wacky video for second single Birthday Girl starring a rooster looking for...well?....no one really knows!. KG explains this came from "the creative mind of my drummer and co producer of the album Michael Makris, who was probably overdosing on protein shakes when he drew up the concept. To be honest I don't know what it means but its different and fun"

More recently King George played a show in Sydney supporting Jimmy Barnes for the Oz Harvest CEO cook off and played a set in front of 1000 homeless people that where being fed by the countries top corporate CEOs. King George adds "for me it was special, considering their situation, these people were having such a great time and I sometimes wonder how are they going and if any of them have managed to move forward in life over the last few monthsI stop and think about this once in while more importantly I hope the CEOs do as well."

The trip to US in 2011 has had a major impact on the King with George doing plenty of writing in New York and penning 'Why Am I Here?' released around Christmas 2012 and the new single 'Hover' released in March 2013.

2013 saw the launch of videos for the singles ‘Hover’ (that won the best thematic award at the Australian Independent Music Video Awards 2013) and 'Heroes' (Lyric Video).

King George played 3 rocking shows in Toronto for Indie Week 2013 and was a tour that inspired the writing of new material. With the first half of 2014 in the studio recording a new album King George released a second lyric video for the sleazy tune 'Firestone' (by UK director Jonathan Oslar) and released the single and video for 'Broken Hearted Whispers’ (by Australian director Dillon Pearce) which was nominated for the Hollywood Music in Media Award and Australian Independent Music Video Awards in 2014.
The new album 'Love Songs and Medications’ was released in October 2014 and is the follow up album to 2010’s 'Prisoners of the Pluto Junction' and features songs with sounds and melodies that cover themes such as love, heartbreak, ambition, temptation and regret.
In 2015 King George returned to Toronto to play Canadian Music Week and will release ‘904’ as next single off the album and its video (directed by Dillon Pearce) will be premier on Monday August 24.

Rob Hegel sings a sweet song about love

ROB HEGEL: ARTIST BIO
Rob's broad range of musical influences include an homage to Goffin and King, Lennon and McCartney, and Nilsson, a bow to Broadway’s Lerner and Lowe, and a nod to Arlen, Dylan, and Newman. This mixed bag of inspirations is reflected in Rob's diverse and unique writing style, so evident in the songs on MAKE IT MAGICAL and throughout hisRob Hegelcareer.
Whether it’s a disco smash for Sarah Dash, "SINNER MAN," his own cult classic RCA recording of "TOMMY, JUDY & ME," the witty "DO IT FOR OUR COUNTRY" featured in the movie GREASE 2, or the top twenty Air Supply hit, "JUST AS I AM," Rob has never written the same song twice. As a staff songwriter for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend, Don Kirshner, Rob wrote songs for several television projects including Norman Lear's "A Year At The Top" starring Mickey Rooney and Paul Shaffer, Alan Landsburg's "The Kids From C.A.P.E.R." starring John Lansing and Steve Bonino, and the theme songs for "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" and "Stick Around" starring Andy Kaufman.
In his first novel, TUXEDO BOB, co-authored with his wife Susan, Rob combines his songwriting abilities with his quick wit and love for the
English language to weave a tale of whimsy about a uniquely talented, impeccably dressed, and compulsively honest young songwriter’s adventures in the music business. In addition to TUXEDO BOB, Rob has written a musical thriller, "The Mirror Of Mister Moore," an action/detective screenplay, "All That Glitter," and a stage play, "and then what?"
Rob Hegel - Make It MagicalHe has released 3 CDs of his original songs; HEGEL 2 - displays, ROAD SIGNS, and his latest, MAKE IT MAGICAL. MAKE IT MAGICAL, co-produced by Robby Krieger (The Doors) and Harper Hug, is an 11-song CD showcasing Rob’s songwriting and vocal abilities, and features some of the finest musicians on the planet.

Johnny Neel is a Hard luck S.O.B

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Johnny Neel blind at birth cut his first single at the age of twelve, as Johnny Neel and The Shapes Of Soul. As an adult, the Johnny Neel Band had a strong following up and down the East Coast and released two well-received independent albums; “One Hot Night& “You Shoulda’ Been There”.  Neel moved to Nashville, the premiere song writing city, in 1984. Where he immediately became recognized a session “A” studio player. Others began to notice Neel’s songwriting talent and decided to take advantage by recording his songs on their albums.
Performing with various bands in area clubs drew the attention of former Nashville resident Dickie Betts, who asked Neel to join his road band, and begin working on Dickie’s solo LP for Epic Records. That relationship led to seven cuts on the “Pattern Disruptive” LP including the Top 10 AOR hit, “Rock Bottom.” Neel’s talented keyboard and harp playing on that album convinced Gregg Allman to ask Neel to tour with his road band.
Neel decided to join the reunited Allman Brothers Band, immersing himself in a successful tour, which led to a number one AOR smash hit during the summer of 1990. Car radios all across America blasted “Good Clean Fun”, from the Seven Turns Album, co-written by Neel with Allman and Betts. The chart topping hit provided the reunited Allmans with their highest charting single since “Ramblin’ Man” fifteen years prior.  Neel’s songs have been recorded by such artist’s as “Montgomery/Gentry, Delbert McClinton, John Mayall, John Louis Walker and many others….  Johnny Neel is a recipient of the “Life Time Achievment Award” from the 2012 Grammy’s with his work with the Allman Brothers.

Ariel is a singer/songwriter and actress based out of Los Angeles.  Her EP, Unexpected, can be found on iTunes etc. and can be heard playing on Pandora Radio.  Her music is pop and hailing from the Gulf Coast of Florida she often brings that beachy Jimmy Buffet  island vibe to her music.  Her music has a wide range appeal from adults needing that positive pick-me up for their Monday morning to her littlest fans who love rocking out to her jams singing along to every word.  While interviewing Ariel on-air, Indie100 radio complemented-  "Your songs make me feel like I'm being hugged from the inside!"
She also often collaborates with artist J Buzzi.  They recently released their song "With You" and subsequent Music Video, which was filmed at various beautiful locations around Los Angeles, including Malibu and on top of one of the tallest buildings in downtown Los Angeles.  You can also find their single 'Breakthrough' on iTunes.
Her music video, "AMERICAN HERO", is a wonderfully patriotic ballad about the steadfast love children have for their family who serve in the military. With images of fathers returning to their sons, daughters solemnly accepting of a parent lost during service, set against the windswept backdrop of the Mojave desert, "AMERICAN HERO" is a must-see video for our men & women in uniform & their families.
Ariel has performed at various venues in Los Angeles and Florida and often does charity concerts for St. Judes Children's Hospital, Special Operations Warrior Fund, and Fisher House.
Ariel recently had the pleasure of shooting with Project Mermaids, getting to pose as a Mermaid, as part of the Save Our Beach movement to raise awareness about beach conservation, a cause close to her heart.
She has also kept busy in the acting and hosting world; A few of her credits include TNT's drama Perception with Eric Mccormack, Disney 365, These Things We Do-Film, and the Yamaha Waverunner and Sportboat Campaigns.  She was a host on 'The Music Project', a web and radio show that brought you backstage at teen music concerts and in-studio performances, for several years at the famous Sunset Gower Studios in Los Angeles.
