TurnUp is about to BlowUp - Flyah Review - Summer Practice Package

TurnUp is a very special artist. He has the pizazz of a commercial artist and the gift of gab. TurnUp's mixtape is entitled Summer Practice Package; it starts off with a nice soul sample that instantly grabs your ears and takes you on a smooth ride. The way he repeats "Put On, Ma" makes this a commercial success and I love the topic. He reminds me of Kendrick Lamar mixed with a little of Mos Def. The second track hits the ground running with more upbeat tempo but keeps the jazzy feel; "Real Life" is illustrated is a sign of drawing a woman's attention hinting his life is a movie. TurnUp's flow and speech over the record shows progression similar to King Chip or Big K.R.I.T. which definitely is a plus in the hip hop industry; if you're not able to flow then you won't last long so TurnUp made certain to be on his A-Game.

On the track "Wordsmith", TurnUp expresses his lyricism in an introspective way that most MC's draw pictures through visions of combing art and life situations blending together. He also brings a fire that boils over with a strength in his words so that they won't be taken as just child's play while rapping. TurnUp channels this song as a showcase that brings a new definition to MC which now can add a new category, Wordsmith.

In an inspired track based on the video game, "Kingdom Hearts" which features Jizza Raw and produced by Jair the Shadow. , TurnUp presents a style that is accompanied by the sample of the orchestra music from the video game series with added in composition. The reflection in the message is poetry in the flesh; an insight on how life throws obstacles in the way and you may see yourself surrounded by some who harness evil energy.  These are just a few records that stood out to me and i could not believe what i had heard. This is the best and phenomenal art in the last 10 to 15 years in my opinion; there's a lot to take of this and hopefully i wish TurnUp the best in his career as he continues to stay grinding with a focus and purpose. To rate this project, "Summer Practice Package", i give it a 9 out of 10...

Miquo drops a very dope song - Flyah Review

Miquo is the type of artist that will have a lasting effect on the game. His voice is unique and his style reminds me of great artist like J-COle.  When listening to his newest song I hear something really special in his music.  It brings about a different vibe then what you get with 85% of the game.  His style cant be labeled at all.  His flow is steady and very entertaining.  The beat he chooses on this one is also a plus.  I love the horns at the beginning that gives it a 90's hip hop feel.  The beat kind of reminds me of groups like Dipset with a more up to date sound..  The subject matter is very relative to the hustle mind set and young go getters.  I really enjoyed playing Really Got it and you guys should enjoy it also.  And if I had to rate the music I would give it a 4 out of 5 for originality and hit potential.

Skully “Fully Loaded” Debut Single Release by GIG Music Group

Originally from the Philadelphia area (Norristown PA). Skully found himself influenced and inspired by the sound of 90's music. East coast and West coast hip hop was predominant to his musical foundation.
The south had yet to emerge as the powerhouse it is today, other than a few groups such as Outkast and SoSo Def.
At the age of 19, Skully moved south to The Greater Tampa Bay FL area. Immediately upon touching down in Florida Skully was fortunate to link up with a production group who is now known as Grammy award winning producers JUSTICE LEAGUE which allowed him to maintain his lyrical integrity through out the years.
Skully continued to compose music with JUSTICE LEAGUE up until they landed their deal in '06. At that point, Skully found himself back to the drawing board, however with his dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with other individuals who shared his same passions he was able to help form the movement known as Vegaz Boyz.
Skully was inspired by the constant night life and the "All in" lifestyle of "Vegas" as well as those in his inner circle, so what started as an inside joke became a staple in the inner city night scene for the extravagant parties and non stop indulgence.
Now fueled by the energy from his surroundings, Skully began relentlessly recording and was determined to be the voice of his peers.

A spew of recordings eventually caught the attention of GIG Music Group and through negotiations and mutual goals being discovered, Skully made a wise decision to join forces with GIG Music Group to help take his music career to the next level of success....

When listening to this single  Fully Loaded I have to say Im am very impressed.  The Music is at a great level of professionalism credited to both Skully and N.o.r.e.  I believe this a great mixture of East Coast street rap and club music.  The beat is one that can be remembered for quite a long time and the flow leaves a mark on the industry like no other.  The mixing matches the style of music and brings about clear vocals and nice acoustics  This song is all about being all the way live in the club or situation where balling and pushing it to the max is a must.  The lyricism is optimal with the right keywords and style to make this one a smash hit.  I have heard this track several times and have to say its becoming one of my favorite.  f I had rate this song I would give it a 7/10 for composition, hit potential and professionalism

New Instrumental Album by Flyah's own Rellz Tha Postman

MIDNIGHT MARIAGEToday Rellz Tha Postman has released his newest beat tape which includes 5 instrumentals produced by him using chilled out melodies, samples and well compressed drums.  This is like a motion picture in his eyes because of how he strategically placed movie lines in the mix of the beats.  He also sets a gangster movie tone with the mood of the music.  The beat tape may remind you of J Dilla, mixed with AlchemistThe Roots, and the RZA.  These musical geniuses are some of his favorites and he inspires to be like them some day.  So far he has planned to do a nice visual for this project that should get him some attention across social networks like Youtube and Facebook.  Rellz Tha Postman is known to do anime videos but he plans on doing this one by using a mixture of movie clips and video effects to make this one a hip hop success.  This beat tape is entitled Midnight Mariage which also gives off a vintage feel and vibe.  It starts off with an original funk instrumental called Jungle Fever with  a sound and impression that its gonna be a players ball.  Then it transcends into a mafia style ballad entitled Luxury Voyage that presents itself in a royal way.  Next it goes into a more laid back song called ”Love and Hate”.   Shape Shifter follows with a soul sample from Al Jarreau that smooths things out even more.  The last track is an unique beat with a royalty free Hawaiian guitar called Midnight Mariage that brings about a gentle end.   Rellz believes by making this project in this order it will give off the image of a plot, a battle, a score, a get away, to a retired gangster living the good life. Check this tape out below and it is as free download so please support. #BoomBap

Breakfast Club - Cant put my finger on it

Despite releasing just one album over a decade together, Breakfast Club will always have a place in the history books as the band that featured two of Madonna's ex-boyfriends -- drummer Stephen Bray and singer Dan Gilroy -- as well as the Material Girl herself, for a short time in her pre-fame days. The New York-based group formed in the late '70s, around the core of Gilroy and his guitarist brother, Ed. By 1979, the lineup featured bassist Angie Schmit and Madonna on drums, but Madonna left after reportedly angling for the lead vocalist's job. She would next go on to form her own band, Emmy, with her old Michigan friend Bray as the drummer and Gary Burke (who was also playing at the same time with the Gilroys) on bass. Bray joined the Gilroys and Burke in Breakfast Club, and the quartet signed to Ze Records. The band's eponymous first album was released in early 1987, preceded by the Top 40 hit "Right on Track." Dan Gilroy and Bray wrote most of the nine songs and Bray also added his production expertise to several of the catchy pop and R&B numbers.  ~ Dan LeRoy

Matt Bunsen - Pass it Around

Matt Bunsen is just another self-deprecating/aggrandizing singer/songwriter from LA.  Adept at the art of songcraft, he combines witty yet heartfelt melodies that flow effortlessly into memorable, epic, sing-along choruses.   But if the if grandeur fails to connect, at least Matt can take solace in being silly.
That being said, not many people can take a Wikipedia entry and compose it into meaningful tale of western angst as Matt does on “I’m Yosemite Sam”.  (Frank Zappa made him do it.)  It’s musical cousin “Stone Cold Santa” further demonstrates the commitment to rocking while remaining both earnest and clever.
Matt Bunsen performs around Southern California - sometimes by himself with just a guitar - and other times playing bass and fronting the 7-piece band, Matt Bunsen and the Burners. They perform interesting takes on classic rocks anthems, along side Bunsen own anthem “Beer” and the swinging “Drugs Make Me Happy” from their Greatest Hits CD, released in 2013.   The result is a rather entertaining evening!  You should check them out...
In his spare time, Matt composes soundtrack music, with credits including NPR, MTV, and Discovery Channel.  He also plays bass for a number of LA bands such Still Spark, Annette Conlon Band, Off The Fence and others.

Willard McKiver Great Voice and Smooth

Willard McKiver has the kind of voice you expect to hear on the concert stage or opera hall, yet he is a jazz singer with equal fluency in the blues, R&B or any other genre he wishes to explore. He will move you emotionally, thrill you with his technique and leave you wanting to spend as much time as possible in his company.

Martin Eagle is a jazz pianist and composer with wide experience playing with jazz greats around the world.  His compositions have spanned not only jazz but also the pop and country genres. His exceptional technique is always held in service to the music and both his composing and improvizing have a lucidity and emotional depth that is rare and profound.

Together they produce the perfect match of talent and creativity; a recording to be savored forever.

Tristan Thompson - Man of your Dreams(New Single Release)

Tristan Thompson, a 18-year-old Victoria, BC, native, convinced his family at a very young age that he was born to be a performer. Music and dance consumed his life as if nothing else mattered. Drawn to acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Michael Jackson, he sang his lungs out to their tunes as a toddler or could be found playing drums on anything he could find. He took this fascination even to the point of becoming a Michael Jackson impersonator busking in downtown Victoria where the local police would have to move his spectating crowd off the street.
After a live performance at a family friend’s wedding and a few performances at various local charity events such as “The Autism Walk” and the “Lac-Megantic” fundraiser, Tristan was featured on the local “ Go Island” TV show where he was interviewed by James Green.
Soon after, Tristan released a YouTube video for his Swedish House Mafia cover “Don’t You Worry Child” and thousands of views started pouring in. The video caught the attention of Chatter Records and a productive relationship began.
Tristan’s debut album, “Here For You”, was released in April 2014 and the first Single, “Tidal Wave”, took radio by storm. Over 100 radio stations played the Single in Canada in addition to international airplay in New Zealand, Scotland and the Philippines. It currently has over 57K views on YouTube.
The summer of 2014 was a busy one for Tristan. His performances included charitable event “Animals for Life Society”, 8 shows at “The Victoria International Buskers Festival”, charitable event “Walk for the Children” at the Toronto Zoo, “The Brentwood Bay Festival”, “The Saanich Fair” and 107.3 Kool FM’s “ kool Days of Summer” private wrap party. Tristan also appeared on Toronto’s “Breakfast Television” on CityTV as well as Corus Entertainment’s “The Zone” on YTV. As well, Tristan began touring with TeenFest Canada in British Columbia. In November 2014, he was named Bell Media’s “Future Star”. Despite his active performance schedule, Tristan still managed to find time to film multiple music videos and record a Holiday single that reached #29 on the BDS Mainstream AC chart in Canada.
Tristan’s second Canadian Single, “Burn Again”, reached #24 on the Mediabase Pop Adult chart & #30 on the BDS Mainstream AC chart in Canada. To date, the video has received over 1.6 million views on YouTube. This Single was also released in the US in February 2015 and received airplay in over 10 States peaking at #73 on the Mediabase Top 40 chart. As well, the video received airplay on MTV.
Tristan’s sophomore album, “Love You Can Believe In”, was released on May 2nd!  This much-anticipated project contains 12 new songs that were specifically written with Tristan’s audience in mind.  These hook-laden tracks are sure to please all of Tristan’s loyal fans.

Vitne Releases New "Masquerade"

Vitne is a solo rock artist located in Norway, playing a type of 80s-influenced Melodic Rock with a punk, slightly gothic edge. Vitne gained the attention of music critics and fans worldwide with his debut album Neonin 2013, and his follow-up 2015 EP Endless Blue went on to win “Best Rock EP” and “Executive Top Pick” from the Akademia Awards. Weaving together elements of glam metal, Japanese rock, punk and even RPG soundtrack music, Vitne creates a personal style of hard rock complemented by the addition of flute on many of his songs. During his time as frontman for the Norwegian glam metal band SEKS, Vitne met hair-metal guitarist Julian Angel of Beatiful Beast, leading to their on-going collaboration. The combination of Julian’s first-class guitar solos and Vitne’s punkish vocals has led to their camaraderie being likened to that of Billy Idol and Steve Stevens.
The Details: Born Joseph “Jo” Kimbrell in Charleston, SC USA, he relocated to Norway in 2010 and adopted the name Vitne (meaning “witness” in the Norwegian language), starting his solo career after his band activities were put on hold. Vitne has gone on to embrace Creative Commons, becoming one of the rare hard rock artists of his genre to release all his music under the Creative Commons (CC-BY) license.
“I love albums. My aim with my records is to take the listener on a journey, not just give some one-night-stand kind of quick fix. A good record is a statement, a story, like a book. It is something you fall in love with and adore and become a fanatic about.”
Vitne’s debut album Neon is greatly influenced by the 80s glam metal movement and gained him critical acclaim from music critics, with SleazeRoxx saying “Think of Vitne and Julian Angel’s relationship like a modern-day incarnation of Billy Idol and Steve Stevens….” His follow-up EP Endless Blue continued that legacy with fans calling it a “little EP with a lot of heart,” as well as music critics proclaiming “His vocals are intoxicating and the music is like a drug…”(VENTS Magazine) and “…thank you for those few moments in your company which reminded me that sometimes the world is a fabulous place” (Metal-Impact).
“I want my records to have a soul, to have feeling and atmosphere. A personal quality I suppose you could say. My songs aren’t intended to be pop hits, and I don’t do fillers. Every song has a purpose, no matter it’s length.”
A multi-instrumentalist, Vitne sings and plays guitar, bass, flute and some piano. His flute work reminds the listener of his love for Jethro Tull most notably heard in his latest works. Vitne casually pursues an acting career as well, having been an actor in multiple music videos, an extra in the Hollywood feature film Dear John, as well as an actor in multiple episodes of the Norwegian TV series Hotel Cæsar. An avid language learner, Vitne speaks both English and Norwegian, and is learning Japanese, Russian and Mandarin Chinese.
Vitne recently released a DVD video compilation on April 12th, 2016 and has a new single “Masquerade” coming June 21st, 2016.

Baltimore Ledge and Mulan are His and Hers - Flyah Review

Baltimore Ledge and Mulan are a duo who have made

project entitled: His and Hers: the Mixtape. On the first track,

"Ranch Dressing", Baltimore Ledge's verse is about having the

ambition of earning money and one night stands. When Mulan has

her chance to rap, she describes of what being the baddest chick is.

All throughout the mixtape, they present slick bars at the same

time showing that they're clever with punchlines. The thing that

makes this mixtape interesting is that it shares the name of the

eponymous sports news show on ESPN, His and Hers. The

concept has not been overdone and they are certainly ready to be

explosive and coining their style without a problem. The track that

stood out the most to me with clever punchlines was "Cosby

Show". It starts off with hot rhymes from the gate and Baltimore

Ledge continues on with aggression and execution. Me being an

artist, this is one of the most intriguing details of hip hop, being

able to execute. Their style is reminiscent of the 2000's and artists

like J.R. Writer, Lloyd Banks. Fabolous. Foxy Brown, Remy Ma

among others. The song "Mark" enlists for a couple to make their

mark per say in relationship; the lyrics discuss on how heartbreak can come between a

man and a woman and someone else can persuade the other to find better. Sometimes the

man can't fall in love  because of his past and may not be able to change

from this view and lifestyle. In return, the mindset of M.O.B. is popular in the

hip hop community but at the same time is a double edge sword because it hurts both

parties. Overall, this mixtape is a success and presented with different outlooks of how the

gangsta life and companionship between man and woman. The cover is dope and when it

first starts, it catches the ear bringing in the motion picture effect. If i had to rate this, i would give this project 8 out of 10
