TurnUp is about to BlowUp - Flyah Review - Summer Practice Package

TurnUp is a very special artist. He has the pizazz of a commercial artist and the gift of gab. TurnUp's mixtape is entitled Summer Practice Package; it starts off with a nice soul sample that instantly grabs your ears and takes you on a smooth ride. The way he repeats "Put On, Ma" makes this a commercial success and I love the topic. He reminds me of Kendrick Lamar mixed with a little of Mos Def. The second track hits the ground running with more upbeat tempo but keeps the jazzy feel; "Real Life" is illustrated is a sign of drawing a woman's attention hinting his life is a movie. TurnUp's flow and speech over the record shows progression similar to King Chip or Big K.R.I.T. which definitely is a plus in the hip hop industry; if you're not able to flow then you won't last long so TurnUp made certain to be on his A-Game.  On the track "Wordsmith", TurnUp expresses his lyricism in an introspective way that most MC's draw pictu

Miquo drops a very dope song - Flyah Review

Miquo is the type of artist that will have a lasting effect on the game. His voice is unique and his style reminds me of great artist like J-COle.  When listening to his newest song I hear something really special in his music.  It brings about a different vibe then what you get with 85% of the game.  His style cant be labeled at all.  His flow is steady and very entertaining.  The beat he chooses on this one is also a plus.  I love the horns at the beginning that gives it a 90's hip hop feel.  The beat kind of reminds me of groups like Dipset with a more up to date sound..  The subject matter is very relative to the hustle mind set and young go getters.  I really enjoyed playing Really Got it and you guys should enjoy it also.  And if I had to rate the music I would give it a 4 out of 5 for originality and hit potential.

Skully “Fully Loaded” Debut Single Release by GIG Music Group

Originally from the Philadelphia area (Norristown PA). Skully found himself influenced and inspired by the sound of 90's music. East coast and West coast hip hop was predominant to his musical foundation. The south had yet to emerge as the powerhouse it is today, other than a few groups such as Outkast and SoSo Def. At the age of 19, Skully moved south to The Greater Tampa Bay FL area. Immediately upon touching down in Florida Skully was fortunate to link up with a production group who is now known as Grammy award winning producers JUSTICE LEAGUE which allowed him to maintain his lyrical integrity through out the years. Skully continued to compose music with JUSTICE LEAGUE up until they landed their deal in '06. At that point, Skully found himself back to the drawing board, however with his dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with other individuals who shared his same passions he was able to help form the movement known as Vegaz Boyz. Skully was ins

New Instrumental Album by Flyah's own Rellz Tha Postman

Today Rellz Tha Postman has released his newest beat tape which includes 5 instrumentals produced by him using chilled out melodies, samples and well compressed drums.  This is like a motion picture in his eyes because of how he strategically placed movie lines in the mix of the beats.  He also sets a gangster movie tone with the mood of the music.  The beat tape may remind you of  J Dilla , mixed with  Alchemist ,  The Roots , and  the RZA .  These musical geniuses are some of his favorites and he inspires to be like them some day.  So far he has planned to do a nice visual for this project that should get him some attention across social networks like Youtube and Facebook.  Rellz Tha Postman is known to do anime videos but he plans on doing this one by using a mixture of movie clips and video effects to make this one a hip hop success.  This beat tape is entitled  Midnight Mariage  which also gives off a vintage feel and vibe.  It starts off with an original funk instrumental called

Breakfast Club - Cant put my finger on it

Despite releasing just one album over a decade together, Breakfast Club will always have a place in the history books as the band that featured two of Madonna's ex-boyfriends -- drummer Stephen Bray and singer Dan Gilroy -- as well as the Material Girl herself, for a short time in her pre-fame days. The New York-based group formed in the late '70s, around the core of Gilroy and his guitarist brother, Ed. By 1979, the lineup featured bassist Angie Schmit and Madonna on drums, but Madonna left after reportedly angling for the lead vocalist's job. She would next go on to form her own band, Emmy, with her old Michigan friend Bray as the drummer and Gary Burke (who was also playing at the same time with the Gilroys) on bass. Bray joined the Gilroys and Burke in Breakfast Club, and the quartet signed to Ze Records. The band's eponymous first album was released in early 1987, preceded by the Top 40 hit "Right on Track." Dan Gilroy and Bray wrote most of th

Matt Bunsen - Pass it Around

Matt Bunsen is just another self-deprecating/aggrandizing singer/songwriter from LA.  Adept at the art of songcraft, he combines witty yet heartfelt melodies that flow effortlessly into memorable, epic, sing-along choruses.   But if the if grandeur fails to connect, at least Matt can take solace in being silly.    That being said, not many people can take a Wikipedia entry and compose it into meaningful tale of western angst as Matt does on “I’m Yosemite Sam”.  (Frank Zappa made him do it.)  It’s musical cousin “Stone Cold Santa” further demonstrates the commitment to rocking while remaining both earnest and clever. Matt Bunsen performs around Southern California - sometimes by himself with just a guitar - and other times playing bass and fronting the 7-piece band, Matt Bunsen and the Burners. They perform interesting takes on classic rocks anthems, along side Bunsen own anthem “Beer” and the swinging “Drugs Make Me Happy” from their Greatest Hits CD, released in 2013

Tristan Thompson - Man of your Dreams(New Single Release)

Tristan Thompson, a 18-year-old Victoria, BC, native, convinced his family at a very young age that he was born to be a performer. Music and dance consumed his life as if nothing else mattered. Drawn to acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Michael Jackson, he sang his lungs out to their tunes as a toddler or could be found playing drums on anything he could find. He took this fascination even to the point of becoming a Michael Jackson impersonator busking in downtown Victoria where the local police would have to move his spectating crowd off the street. After a live performance at a family friend’s wedding and a few performances at various local charity events such as “The Autism Walk” and the “Lac-Megantic” fundraiser, Tristan was featured on the local “ Go Island” TV show where he was interviewed by James Green. Soon after, Tristan released a YouTube video for his Swedish House Mafia cover “Don’t You Worry Child” and thousands of views started pouring in. The

Baltimore Ledge and Mulan are His and Hers - Flyah Review

Baltimore Ledge and Mulan are a duo who have made  a  project  entitled: His and Hers : the Mixtape. On the first track,  "Ranch Dressing", Baltimore Ledge's verse is about having the  ambition of earning money and one night stands. When Mulan has her chance to rap, she describes of what being the baddest chick is.  All throughout the mixtape, they present slick bars at the same  time  showing that they're clever with punchlines. The thing that  makes this mixtape interesting is that it shares the name of the  eponymous sports news show on ESPN, His and Hers . The  concept  has not been overdone and they are certainly ready to be  explosive and coining their style without a problem. The track that  stood out the most to me with clever punchlines was "Cosby  Show". It starts off with hot rhymes from the gate and Baltimore  Ledge continues on with aggression and execution. Me being an
