Jamie Michael - I Thought You Loved Me #Posthumous Review

Jamie Michael died tragically in a house fire. He was a musical genius. He would just hear the music in his head and he would tap it out on a keyboard. He wrote most of the lyrics himself for the songs on the album "Jamie Michael Love & War". His mother Jannis wrote all the lyrics for the  song "I thought You Loved Me". Jamie and his friend Andrew wrote the music and all three worked on the arrangement together. It was professionally recorded in Los Angeles. Jamie wrote the music and the lyrics for "War On the Streets" himself. It was recorded professionally in Los Angeles as were all the tracks on the album. His mother wrote  the bridge in  three of the songs and  is a featured singer on four of the songs. His little sister Chrissy sang backup with their mother on the song "Surrender Your Heart". After Jamie's death his mother Jannis produced the album and submitted it for internet airplay. The album is currently playing on internet radio in Canada, France, Russia and the United States and is available for mp3 download on cdbaby, iTunes, Amazon, Google Music and can be streamed on Spotify and YouTube. Teddy Hayes returns with a nice love song that has a sexy groove. The name of the song is called "Slow Dance"; it's inspired by great musicians like Smokey Robinson, The Main Ingredient & the Chi-Lites. With the 70's feel, Slow Dance can catch the ears of all crowds especially if you're an old soul. It brings me back to good times when families were close and mothers and fathers will slow dance the night away. The lyrics are very sensual and puts you in a mindset of a man and woman lost in love and inspired by one's passion. The beat is very smooth and has a substantial mixing of piano strings percussion instruments and so forth. Teddy's voice compliments with desire to persuade a lady to slow dance with him. In the video version of the song, many of couples (young and old) are resembled practicing the tradition of slow dancing. The April Fools - She Belongs to Me #Flyah Review

The April Fools began as a studio project for singer/songwriter Brian Drake, who intended to record a batch of his songs with help from a wide network of players to flesh out the tunes. Guitar, bass, and drums would be augmented by horn players, strings, woodwinds, keyboards, vocalists, and more depending on the specific song. The songs themselves spanned a broad spectrum—rock to straight-up country to alt-country/Americana to blue-eyed soul to Brit-pop to folk to 70’s AM radio and more.

The four band members got together for their first jam on September 15, 2013 with the agreement that this was simply a project—a project with a beginning and an end. Then, a funny thing happened; they became a band. The ease of collaboration—the charmed chemistry that presented itself—was apparent almost immediately and they all knew, without saying anything about it, this was something they wanted to continue to do as an ensemble.

Finding a cohesive thread with which to bring together those diverse genres, they then began recording sessions for what would become their debut album.

Sundown Delay - You're in Love with Yesterday #Flyah Review

The original idea of Sundown Delay was to create a final platform (since his former band dissolved) from where Svante Widerström could throw the 10 songs he writes every year into the great nothingness. A one-man band would not only have non-exist issues with drop out members. It would also mean total creative control. But it would also mean no fun. So when old friend Nanne Westerholm offered his service from behind the drums Svante of course was happy. Together they recorded "Catching Up With The Future" 2015. But as a duo they weren't able to play live. To be considered as a band they needed at lest a bass-player.

They found the missing piece in Björn Ericsson and recorded the mini LP "Rubik's Cube Is Fighting Back" which was released in april 2016. The record was critically acclaimed but since drummer Nanne Westerholm left the band in june same year there wasn't too much action.

The replacement was called Tobias Wiik and after playing a few gigs they started to work on new music. The new full-length album "Awaiting The Death Of Rock'nroll" was released in December 2017.

Sundown Delay are back with a new album "Awaiting the Death of Rockn'roll". Ten songs where rock-hard NWOBHM, punk and pub rock as well as clever psychedelia and pop are woven into a sound as individual as unique.

Sundown Delay are based in Alingsås, a dull and sleepy town located about forty-five minutes northeast of Gothenburg, which is otherwise best known as the home of the man who introduced the potato to Sweden, and because the poet Karin Boye went there to commit suicide. Alingsås is also known nationally as the area that can proudly claim the highest number of burnt out medical and care workers on long-term sick leave.

Only a chosen few people in Alingsås know about Sundown Delay. This is despite the fact that their 2015 debut "Catching up with the future" and 2016's critically acclaimed miniLP "Rubik's Cube is Fighting Back" were both crystal clear proof that the bands songwriter Svante Widerström has found an exceptionally good sounding musical recipe.

On "Awaiting the Death of Rockn'roll" the band are even more uncomromising than ever.

The opening track "You're in Love With Yesterday" takes an inexorable grip on the listener and on "Emotional Waste" Sundown Delay sound like high octane pub rock à la Dr. Feelgood mixed with early metal acts in the style of Saxon and Diamond Head. The result is murderously hard. On "In the Valley" the tempo drops but the inensity certainly doesn't. Slide guitars and vocals recorded through a Lesley speaker create an air of psychedelia. "Zeb Macahan" sounds like The Electric Prunes transported to the early eighties metal scene.

Inseparable since high school, Undecided Future is an Indie Pop band formed in 2012, all five were students of Commercial Music and Film & TV at Orange County School of the Arts, Santa Ana. Imagining behind the narrative of Lost for the night is a group of people in the club enjoying the drinks dancing and having a good time. If i had to rate this song on the scale of 1 to 10; i'll give it a 8 for consistency quality and replay value.

NEGUS - Thing of Ours - Flyah Review

An article highlighting the 5 New Orleans New Comers with 2018 Grammy Potential, and quickly there was a response via Twitter from New Orleans DJ Pioneer, E.F. Cuttin saying that someone was left out and that someone was Negus. In 2016, Negus ran up the score in New Orleans, from throwing, and headlining his own concerts, to collaborating with Grammy award winning Producer, Chase N. Cashe, Negus did it all. Now, in 2017, Negus plans to keep his foot on the gas.

We sat down in the studio with Negus yesterday, and he played us a bunch of new music, recorded new music for us on the spot, and showed us this “Extra” video, which featured another extremely talented New Orleans New Comer, Million$. “Extra” is directed by Quincy Scott, who is one of the most consistent shooters in New Orleans, and it shows the lifestyle that Negus often times rap about, and one that he actually lives.

JAZZGROUPIEZ IS FLYAH

Groovy, soothing, sensual with a twist of southern inspired sounds in a rhythmic beat; these are the few things to describe what a instrumental of this nature consist of. When I hear this song called "Bounce", it brings just that... a bounce in the head shoulders and even hips if anyone dances to it. The composition of this tune opens a mental portal where someone can be in a vibe of feeling a breeze outside on a sunny day distancing themselves from worries becoming relaxed in the world of Jazz. A tune of this caliber deserves to be played among friends and used as a tool to enlighten many others to keep genre of Jazz alive. Jazzgroupiez have made it known that they're time has come and approaching on the scene to leave a mark for not only the younger generation but to bring forth a revisiting to the older ones as well. If I had to rate "Bounce", I will give it a 9 for authenticity performance and confidence in carrying the torch of many jazz musicians before them to pass it along the new listener.

Jazzgroupiez.com is a jazz website dedicated to celebrating the past, present and future of jazz. Initially this started off as a passion project 5 years ago traveling the US in search of great jazz and sharing the pics. Now we are expanding to promoting the culture and focusing strongly on getting the younger generations excited about jazz (hence the EP title Millinaissance. The album if four jazz based beats I produced influenced by the last 60 years of jazz.
