Danae - Good as Gold #Flyah Review

Danae is a pop singer/songwriter based in New York City. Her electro-pop goodness--much like chocolate, but for your ears--transcends the pop genre with varied production styles and nuanced meaning-filled lyrics.

'Direction', Danae's debut single, came out the same week as Beyonce's 'Lemonade' but the music lovers of HypeMachine sent the song to #39 on the Popular Charts. The next week, 'Actualize' hit SoundCloud and reached #10 on the HypeMachine Charts prior to it's commercial release on May 6, 2016.

She followed up the release of "Direction" with her singles "Actualized" and "Gold In the Dirt" in late 2016 and early 2017.  "Gold In The Dirt" has received a number of positive reviews since its release. The songs positive message about overcoming obstacles and pushing through has resonated with listeners.

Her single "Prove" was released in Summer 2017 in Europe and peaked at number 11 on one of the European Indie Charts.

Danae’s voice and writing have been shaped by her time spent living in Russia, Texas, and the Washington, DC area. After moving to Nashville in 2013, she collaborated with music producer Sarin Kuruvilla to cultivate the trending pop singer/songwriter genre in Music City. From there, she was able to connect with Los Angeles-based producer Phil Danyew who has toured with Foster the People, as well as Secret Road producer AG.

Nashville, TN  Music City newcomer DANAE is set to release her third single, “Gold in the Dirt,” from her forthcoming EP on June 10th. The single comes from the artist’s anticipated premiere EP, Direction, which debuted on July 1st, 2016.

Showcasing a different musical vibe from her first two EP singles, “Direction” and “Actualized,” DANAE’s third single reflects on the grit of her rise through the music industry. Following the success of her debut music video, “Direction,” which released with over 57K views in less than a week, “Gold in the Dirt” promises to be a chart topper.

Sarin Kuruvilla is a producer/songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. He directed and edited the music video for “Direction” and also co-wrote and produced the single with DANAE. Adrianne “AG" Gonzalez, born and raised in Miami, FL, is a triple threat, producing, songwriting and engineering music since the age of 15. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, AG relocated to Los Angeles and began to make her mark as one of the few female producers in the industry. Her unique blend of diverse musical influences include M83, Peter Gabriel and PJ Harvey, and has led to extensive network TV exposure, popular television commercials, and feature films. Most recently, AG produced Ciara’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” for Lionsgate’s new vampire killer movie The Last Witch Hunter.  Published by Secret Road, and one-fourth of the band The Rescues (formerly of Universal Republic), AG’s music has been featured in countless TV shows, feature films, and on AAA radio stations nationwide, including Pretty Little Liars, The Leftovers, Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, etc. In addition to her prolific TV & film career, AG has worked with a wide array of artists and songwriters such as Ciara, Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear, Jeremy Messersmith, BUNT., Natalie Imbruglia, Matthew Perryman Jones, and Augustana, among others.
