George Lucas' notorious prequels got improved as they went, if not through lots. right here, he provided a credible edition of Anakin Skywalker's surrender to the dark facet — albeit one which ends in a truly risible "Nooooo!" of grief and rage. in other places, the few castmembers left standing with their dignity (hats off to our as soon as and optimistically future Obi-Wan, Ewan McGregor) managed, within the closing scenes, to conjure the air of defeat and gloom that could plague the galaxy unless child Luke grew up and met two challenge-making droids.
