Sivan Langer - The Three Monkeys Somg

Langer’s journey into the world of songwriting began when he decided to form a band with a couple of his schoolmates. He dove into a furious exploration of the guitar, immersing himself in the iconic sounds of 90s rock and grunge. Soon enough, his musical tastes grew to encompass jazz and experimental rock. It was a journey that led him to appreciate the conceptual ideas behind the music as much as their sonic manifestations.  As he continues down the winding path of a musician infatuated with his craft, the culmination of his musical journey is marked by this labor of love and determination, borne out of sheer will and appreciation for the arts. Langer’s fusion of genres, blending classic rock, punk, and even elements of jazz, bears witness to an artist unafraid to explore and transcend boundaries. Exclusive interview with Blood of Angels

Where are you from and could you tell us a little bit of your upbringing?

I was born in New York City, spent my early childhood in Connecticut.  My family and I moved to Florida and spent the rest of my youth growing up in Brandon near Tampa.  I have a stable family life.

What genre of music do you make and when did you first decide to be a musician?

We are a metal band.  It is a genre of music I have loved being a part of my whole life.  I decided to become a musician after hearing Randy Rhodes play on the Ozzy Osbourne "Randy Rhodes Tribute" album.  After hearing the passion behind his playing is what inspired me to play guitar.

Who are some of the notable artists and people that influenced your career thus far?

Randy Rhodes, Kerry King, Dimebag Darrell, Dino Cazares and James Murphy.  These great  musicians are from different subgenres of metal.  It is my life long musical goal to blend these different styles together into one cohesive sound.

Could you tell us about your latest projects?

We released a new single last October titled "Spillage."  Before the single, we released our last full-length album October 2020.  Our most recent appearance is in a prank video for Ross Creations.  We showed up at a gym and played live unexpectedly.  Here is the link on youtube to check it out.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlWP5QqNq3Q&t=331s

What should we expect from you in the near future?

We are currently working on a new album.  We will be in the studio next month to begin tracking.

Could you give us some advice that you can offer to someone who is just getting started in making music?

Save your money.  It takes a substantial investment to get a band off the ground.  Between online promotion, recording, PR, distribution, merchandise, touring vehicle, tour buy-on, and tour expenses.

Are there any important achievements you have gained since beginning to do music?

We have won some independent music awards.  Our biggest award was the 16th Annual Independence Music Award for Best Metal/Hardcore Song.  We have also done some national touring during our last album cycle.

Besides music, what are some of the things that you are into?

I am big into sports.  Being in Tampa I am a complete Tampa sports fan.  I love to travel.  I enjoy art in many different mediums.

Are you currently on tour or planning to be?

We will be after our new album is completed.

Any last remarks?
