Artist Releases Song to Tackle Growing Depression Among Youth

Artist Releases Song to Tackle Growing Depression Among Youth

BOSTON, Mass. — Dr Jaymz, a British artist now living in the USA, releases new single ‘Set Free.’ As the world’s first missionary turned EDM artist, his inspiring new release tackles the growth in depression among youth. According to the CDC’s most recent report, rates of psychological distress among youth, including anxiety and depression, have increased. It’s clear that people need a sense of love and purpose to tackle these emotions. Dr Jaymz is doing just that by merging music with an uplifting message that can overcome feelings of sadness and brokenness.

In his latest release, Dr Jaymz delivers a message of freedom and deliverance, where he encourages partygoers to quit numbing their pain with toxic vices, cut loose from their demons by embracing the love of God. Pulsing bass synths, ethereal pads, echoing vocals and a punching beat set the tone, blending elements of dance, pop and slap house in the vein of Tiësto’s ‘The Motto.’

People who struggle with depression often feel like they have no one who cares for them or understands their feelings. However, through his uplifting single, Dr Jaymz moves the hearts of listeners with lyrics of hope and care, showing people that God loves them. The vocalist sings, “You heard my voice in the stars, reached out and just a touch of my heart was all I need.” Everyone is looking for a better life, and this song highlights the everlasting life found in a relationship with God. The chorus “Set free from all the demons holdin’ onto me” is a moment of celebration in the song, accentuated by a thumping slap house beat that will surely move audiences to their feet.

Mastered by the same studio that brought the hit single ‘Head and Heart’ by Joel Corry, ‘Set Free’ is set to become another hit that will captivate listeners with a fresh slap house bass sound that’s become popular with music listeners worldwide.

Dr Jaymz is available for interviews to share with your audience his uniquely creative and timely approach for battling depression through music.

Exclusive interview with Evan Croft

Where are you from and could you tell us a little bit of your upbringing?

I’m from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I’ve been doing music for 16 years. I started out joining the Toronto Children's Concert Choir and Performing Arts Company to improve my singing ability. I was part of the choir for 8 years and won many achievements including section leader of the tenor section, rising star, and overall vocalist.

After that, I decided since I like being on stage and I like to sing & dance, why not become an artist and performer?

What genre of music do you make and when did you first decide to be a musician?

The genres I make are R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop and/or a blend of the three.

I was inspired to become a songwriter by American artist Kevin Ross, after hearing his music in 2014.

Who are some of the notable artists and people that influenced your career thus far?

I’ve been influenced by many artists. My top five are Michael Jackson, 2Pac, Chris Brown, John Legend and Ne-Yo.

Could you tell us about your latest project?

My debut album was released May 14th, 2021 through my independent label, Croft Media Productions. It covers a wide variety of topics including party songs, love songs, personal & introspective music and inspirational songs. You could say the album is about my life and the different situations I went through.

What should we expect from you in the near future?

Expect one more single from me this year. After that, I’ll have a compilation album which will be ready for the new year.

Could you give us some advice that you can offer to someone who is just getting started in making music?

If you’re starting out, try your best to be yourself. It’s easy to copy someone else’s sound, but finding your sound is what gets you noticed.

Are there any important achievements you have gained since beginning to do music?

I’ve got to meet and learn from artists like Lecrae, Jessie Reyez, Ro James, Devvon Terrell, and Kevin Ross. I’d say my biggest achievement was I got to be an opening performer for Curtis Young, the son of Dr. Dre.

Besides music, what are some of the things that you are into?

I've also been acting around Canada for 12 years. If I’m not entertaining, you could find me playing either basketball or golf.

Are you currently on tour or planning to be?

I’m planning a tour, but I’m currently doing performances around Ontario.

Evan Croft releases When You’re Ready

Evan Croft is a Canadian-born entertainer, who is all about setting the bar higher and seizing many creative possibilities. He doesn’t go by the usual limitations, and instead of creating barriers for himself, he follows amazing opportunities. Stylistically, his sound blurs the lines between hip-hop, electronic music, pop and R&B, going for a catchy and one-of-a-kind tone.

He has recently released a brand new single, When You’re Ready (Remix). This new release represents a very good introduction to the work of this artist, who is not simply aiming to entertain the audience, but also to achieve a much deeper connection.

When You’re Ready (Remix) is a fun, fresh, and one-of-a-kind piece of music, which is actually the official remixed version of a track that was already quite explosive in its original form. This remix brings a freshness to the original vibe of the song, while still retaining the same intensity and emotion that makes the original version of “When You’re Ready” so special.

This song showcases Evan’s incredible versatility, as well as the enormous variety that listeners can expect from the artist’s music. This release is yet another fantastic addition to an already impressive discography, from an artist who continues to evolve and break new musical ground.

ILL Badaa releases S.O.M.E and sheds light on his purpose

What is the main message you want to convey in your animations?

Life is not random. Life moves according to a plan and a plan has patterns.” In my animation we like to point these “Patterns” out. We feel it can help people to live better lives.

Do you feel cartoons could have a bigger effect on todays youth?

Definitely! When I was young at least 80 percent of what we watched were cartoons. I think we may not have known then, or even now, just how much cartoons and animation have shaped our thought process.

What lead you create the name God > Animation Studios?

I was given the vision that story telling would be a powerful device in pointing out the “Patterns” that we all run into in life. After being exposed to Animation, I could see quickly that the potential “animation” possesses, it’s more powerful than I think any of us have seen, to date. The same Source that inspired me to talk about the concepts that we attempt to tackle, took the animation and showed me that what I first wanted to accomplish in film, could be done with less restriction with “animation.” Stories, the Narrative, pervades our lives. When we make music we speak on and or almost create a New Narrative. Drama allows the opportunity to confront whatever the Narrative is, to critique it, to correct it, and even to perhaps challenge it. This idea, couple with all my influences and their Grace, partnered with GOD’s inspiration, led me to starting GOD > Animation Studios to create produce and bring to life these “pieces,” that dare to address “The Narrative,” in all forms.

So who is ILL Badaa the cartoon character?  What are some of the intriguing details?

Hahah I love that you asked me that. IllBadaa of coarse starts with me. He is the cartoon me who expresses and reveals all of his human struggles, in a way I am not so sure I am willing to. Illbadaa is a even tempered , work from home , Dad , who gets pulled into this amazing adventure.  In this adventure, illBadaa meets Jesus before he is the Jesus of his adulthood that we know. He meets Jesus in our Theatrical Release of Kid Jesus, which is being released in 2023. Its such an amazing adventure i dont want to give away all the twists and turns, but we are working really hard on it and we think you will really like it. What I find most interesting about illBadaa is his strength of Faith and his vulnerabilities. I think a lot of people when they actually get to know illBadaa, they will see a lot of themselves in him and his journey.

Could you give us some details about the Kid Jesus series?

Kid Jesus will be a Theatrical Series Release. Multiple characters have this amazing separate yet shared experience with Jesus as a child. I think it will be very revealing for us as a society, for many individuals , and also at the same time it will revisit some of the cannon of the Bible that refers to Jesus’s life and the way people lived in those times. What a remarkable opportunity to explore humanity and address some of our shared concerns?

Could you tell us about your latest project S.O.M.E?

Some stands for Stay On My Equipment. It is more of a reminder to those who follow our work, that yes we are always most proud of our Social messages. This is why we exist, but at the same time, we as Creators see ourselves as those who endeavor daily to Master our Craft, so don’t ever sleep because I am an Emcee and I’m forever putting in my 100,000 hours in. Whether i “feel,”like it or not i am alway perfecting my craft and appreciating those who have supported and stuck with me on this journey. So Stay on My Equipment was a thanks to my supporters and a reminder to fellow emcees that ima problem on that mic so dont play, hahah.

Are their any other major characters in your universe?

Yes there are multiple characters in this universe that we will be developing and introducing and all of them have backstories that feed into the main story so stay tuned.

What can we expect from you in the near future?

As an anime studio we are going to pump out great messages using music and animation while we continue on Kid Jesus, and Kid Mohammed after that.

Where can everyone enjoy your content in the most sufficient way?.

I would follow us using linktree which leads you to all our stuff and news plus updates here is that link

Exclusive Interview Chris Lewington

Where are you from and could you tell us a little bit of your upbringing?

I live deep in the English country side by the river. Most of my life I lived in London. My first album “Landells Road” is named after the street I used to live on and where I recorded the album. It’s a kind of post Beatlesque affair, classic songwriting and dabbling in many genres. My last album “Riverside” was named after the place I moved to in Kent and is more 70’s singer songwriter influenced. It’s quite pastoral in feel and quite English in many of the songs. Songs about the Pre Raphaelites, Rupert Brooke. Not your average rock ’n’ roll subjects.

What genre of music do you make and when did you first decide to be a musician?

I never wanted to be a musician. I wanted to be a songwriter. I needed to be a musician to be a songwriter. If you had to put me in a little box with a label on it then “singer-songwriter”

Who are some of the notable artists and people that influenced your career thus far?

My first love was not pop or rock music but movie themes and my earliest musical heroes were the likes of Ennio Morricone and John Barry. Then I read Hunter Davis original biog of the Beatles and thought that’s what I want to be in a band with my mates. Then I heard early Paul Simon. He was writing these existential lyrics all wrapped up as a cute little pop songs. That’s when the light went on. A writer like Bruce Springsteen can conjure up a character’s life story in a few song lines or Joni Mitchell can turn turn your expectations around with a simple understatement. It’s the power of the 3 or 4 minute song to encapsulate life, love, existence. It’s the craft of songwriting I’m looking for in music. Of people around at the moment First Aid Kit and Bon Iver are good. I listened to Ryan Adams re telling of Taylor Swift’s 1989 and realised what a damn good writer she is. Folklore was my favourite album of last year. Lana Del Rey is another excellent songstress in my books. Both heirs to the Mitchell crown.

Could you tell us about your latest project?

My new album “Starfish Memories” is out on the 26th August 2022. There’s 11 tracks that reflect the world we live in from songs about personal relationships to war in Ukraine, COVID and COP 26. There’s songs with immediate hooks and singalong chorus's and then there’s more intimate ballads and reflective songs.
The opening song “Blue Skies, Fields of Gold” could be an anthem for Ukrainian resistance. “Radio Radio” has that sort of nagging catchline you just can’t get out of your head. “The Bridge At Midnight” is coded and dense lyrically and builds to an apocalyptic cataclysm. “It’s Going To Be Okay” has been described as the “ perfect anthem as we emerge from Covid”.
The album is self produced and I play all instruments and  do all vocals bar a couple of backing Vox on all of the tracks.

What should we expect from you in the near future?

More of the same or something completely different. The future is a foreign country. In the back of my mind there’s and inkling to do a Scott Walker style album with lots of string and orchestral arrangements. Then maybe again a starkly acoustic just me and a guitar album. Or maybe I’ll do an album of alternative movie themes

Could you give us some advice that you can offer to someone who is just getting started in making music?

Don’t. It’ll only get you into lots of trouble. You’ll never make a living from it. Get a steady job like school teacher.

Are there any important achievements you have  since beginning to do music?

I will shortly have put out three solo albums. I’ve played numerous venues in the U.K and abroad from intimate clubs to larger venues holding thousands. I’ve worked with name producers and cropped up on the odd compilation album and been played on daytime prime time radio.

Besides music, what are some of the things that you are into?

Walking, Gardening, Photography, Diving, History, Cosmology, Books, Ecology, Film, Art, Travel, cats
